Stud poker is an exciting variation of the popular card game known as poker. Since the development of the game, many gamblers from around the world were attracted to the game. However, the main difference between Caribbean Poker and traditional poker games is that you play against the house instead of other people. Many like the idea of simply playing against the house as they then don’t have to interact with other players, nor do they have to worry about bluffing for there is none of that involved.
However, others prefer standard poker over Caribbean Poker for two main reasons. The first is that by using bluffing and other forms of deception the player is often able to win more as they have more control over the outcome of the game. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, as with any other man vs. house type games, the long term outlook of winning Caribbean Poker to any real substance is dim.
Playing Caribbean Poker is much like standard poker in that each player places on the table his ante, or a forced bet that is agreed upon before the game. Once they are down, the dealer announces “no more bets” and each player gets five cards. The cards are dealt face down, and the dealer is the first to look at his cards. He turns over one card and then pushes the cards towards the players, which is when they can look at them. They cannot discuss what they have with the other players, nor can they look at what the other players have received.
They then choose to play the cards they have, or fold and leave that round of the game, thus forfeiting their ante. If they choose to play, they put twice the amount of their ante in the bet box. Once everyone has made their decision, the dealer shows his cards. The dealer can only play with an ace/king or higher, and goes around the table comparing his cards to the other players – right to left. Those that have a hand that beats the dealer’s win
CARIBBEAN STUD POKER RULES
Players may not exchange or communicate information regarding their hands. Any violation will result in a dead hand and forfeiture of all wagers.
A player may play only one hand per round of play.
Each player who makes a bet wager shall be responsible for his or her own hand and no other person other than the dealer may touch the cards of that player.
Winning progressive payout hands are paid in accordance with the meter when it is the players turn to be paid. However, if more than one player at a table has a royal flush progressive payout hand, each player shall share equally in the amount on the meter when the first player with a royal flush ach player shall be required to keep the five cards in full view of the dealer at all times. Once each player has examined his or her cards and placed them face down on the layout, they may not touch the cards again.
If a hole card is exposed prior to the dealer announcing no more bets, all hands shall be void.
Players choosing to play for the progressive payout are responsible for ensuring that the indicator light on the acceptor device is properly illuminated.
If a player is dealt an incorrect number of cards, that players hand shall be void. If the dealer is dealt four cards of the five card hand, the dealer shall deal an additional card to complete the hand. Any other misdeal to the dealer shall result in all hands being void and the cards shall be reshuffled..
